What is a Sangeet?

The word “Sangeet “ means music, but when it is used as a term to describe a celebratory event during an Indian wedding, usually the night before the ceremony, it translates to Music Night or Musical party.

This musical night is a celebration of the union of not only the couple but the bonding of both families. It is here that both sides meet and mingle in a fun environment.

Expect a night full of food, performances, henna and dancing the night away.
Dress Code

Festive Indian Attire

If you want to wear one Indian outfit, this is your chance! The sangeet is a fun, colorful and vibrant event. If you're wearing American clothes, shoot for colorful cocktail attire.

Pre-Wedding Catered Lunch

We will be hosting a catered lunch for everyone, with delicious Gujarati food and chai, in the Osprey Room at the Embassy Suites Hotel right before the wedding festivities.

What is a Baraat?

A baraat is the groom's celebratory wedding procession involving live music and dancing immediately prior to the wedding ceremony. In other words, it's the groom's pump-up party leading into the ceremony.
